Dishes such as Charbroiled Ribeye Steak ($37.90) and Baked Salmon with Herb Crust ($26.90) are reasonably priced and very popular with diners, but what makes Earle Swensen’s unique is its buffet salad bar. Other than the usual greens and fruits (25 to 30 different choices), there is a great variety of homemade condiments for you to choose from! You can also opt for the a la carte version of salad bar.

2. Southwest TavernSouthwest Tavern -
Welcome to one of the best buffalo chicken wing stops in Singapore. Their spicy buffalo wings are aptly named Suicide Wings. Jolokia pepper, also known as ghost pepper, which is one of the spiciest in the world, is used in this dish and it is definitely not for the faint-hearted. You can get the wings at 3 for $14 or 6 for $22. Their other tongue-numbing attraction is their Spaghetti from Hell challenge, where you stand a chance to win a $100 dining voucher if you eat a plate of spaghetti within 10 minutes under their terms and conditions.

Their signature Chicken and Waffles ($16) is a combination of crisp waffles and batter-fried meat that has been done just right. For the sweet-toothed, there are decadent sugary options like On Cloud Nine ($15), where lemon curd, toasted marshmallows, candy floss and a scoop of vanilla ice cream are all placed atop the Belgian waffles.

4. Wow Wow WestWow Wow West -
Wow Wow West is easy on the wallet and also easy on the stomach. For less than $10, you can savour Western dishes such as Chicken Chop ($6), Fish and Chips ($7) and something more uncommon like the Pork Cheese Sausage! Be prepared to queue as the stall at ABC Brickworks is almost always swamped with hungry customers. Do note that Wow Wow West is closed on Mondays.

5. Miam MiamMiam Miam -
Miam Miam is a charming fusion of a French café with a Japanese twist. Their kitchen hits the right notes with artisanal dishes like Lobster Bisque Pasta ($20.80), Berries Cheesecake Parfait ($11.80) and Matcha Soufflé ($11.80). Some of their top-selling dishes include the French Toast ($15.80) and Miam Miam Spaghetti ($16.80), which patrons willingly order time and time again.
